ON C2C Title: Senior Database Administrator Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: As a Senior Database Administrator, you will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Data teams to develop, manage, govern, and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases. The position requires in-depth knowledge of Oracle internals, AWS RDS (Oracle) internals, SQL performance, database performance, capacity planning, installation, integration, configuration, database design, migration, security, troubleshooting, upgrades, refreshes, and backup & recovery. You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to maintain a reliable environment for systems hardware and operating systems server software. What Youll Do: Design, configure, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases in on-premises data centers and the AWS Cloud. Establish and maintain sound recovery and backup policies and procedures. Design, install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle 19C database server software and related products. Develop data migration plans to move legacy on-premises databases to AWS infrastructure. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges), and establish procedures to apply the most recent Critical Patch Updates to databases. Ensure data integrity and availability. Perform on-call duties to ensure continuous system availability. Establish and execute periodic disaster recovery testing. Conduct capacity planning, database licensing, security, and encryption. Evaluate database features and related products. Set up and maintain documentation and standards. Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Solid scripting skills using Shell and Python. 6+ years of Database Administration experience, including 3+ years with Oracle. Experience with performance diagnostics, performance tuning, including analysis, hints, profiles, and baselines. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
