Users are primarily Sony Music's music Labels; their "customers/external users". -Documentation of processes, reports, and database relationships and ensuring databases meeting business requirements. -Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues. -Automate and execute required database reports and migration activities using Linux shell scripting/Python. Plusses: -AWS RDS experience. (100% of databases are now in AWS Cloud). -To automate more modern apps they use Lambda/Python. It is simple code and not a must-have, but someone who is at least open to learning. Day to Day: As a Database Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, coding, and maintaining databases across Sony Music Entertainment. Collaborating closely with senior developers, you will implement business needs and evaluate technology components for effective database management systems and applications. Your responsibilities will also include diagnosing and resolving database access and performance issues, developing change control and testing processes, and ensuring all database systems meet business and performance requirements. The Database Developer will be a part of the team managing the Asset Management & Promotional Systems team of the Digital Supply Chain group, focusing on databases as a layer, supporting various databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo, and Oracle, and contributing to the modernization of applications into microservices. All of these systems are internally developed systems by Sony, and theyve been on these systems since 2005. Since 2005, there have been upgrades, maintenance, and new feature additions. There will be a focus of pulling microservices and writing reports and backfilling scripts for performance and data issues. They will be managing Kafka on the backend for messaging and GraphQL. The role involves collaboration with app developers, end-users, and business users being music Labels, particularly in generating trading reports and scripts. This team supports close to 50 databases, but this person will be supporting about 6 databases; about 2-3 applications (each application has 3 databases).
