Position: Kafka Engineer Location: New York, NY (Onsite) Duration : 12+ months Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters to handle large-scale data ingestion and processing. Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to integrate Kafka into our existing systems and applications. Optimize Kafka configurations for performance, scalability, and reliability. Monitor Kafka clusters and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and low latency. Implement security best practices to safeguard data within Kafka environments. Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline Kafka deployment and management tasks. Stay up-to-date with Kafka ecosystem developments and recommend best practices for adoption. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for Kafka-related incidents outside of regular business hours. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as a Kafka Engineer or similar role, with a deep understanding of Kafka architecture and internals. Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kafka clusters in production environments. Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts and principles. Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Shell scripting. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Kafka certification (e.g., Confluent Certified Developer/Operator) is a plus.
