Key Responsibilities: Manage SQL Server Databases: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database servers. Monitor Systems: Regularly check the health and performance of databases, ensuring they are operating at optimal levels. Performance, Availability, and Security: Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security for all database systems. Real-Time Issue Resolution: Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing effective solutions. Process Automation and Refinement: Develop and implement processes to automate regular tasks, track issues, and document all changes. Developer Assistance: Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and refine database schemas. High Availability: Manage high availability tasks, including AlwaysOn, replication, and other strategies to ensure database uptime. 24x7 Support: Provide around-the-clock support for critical production systems. Maintenance and Deployment: Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities during off-hours. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with SQL Server databases. Strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles, and practices. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies. Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization. Ability to analyze and solve complex database issues in real time. Excellent knowledge of SQL and database management tools. Strong scripting skills for process automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Experience in supporting and maintaining critical production systems. Ability to work after hours for maintenance and deployment activities. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). Knowledge of other database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
