Title: Database Analyst Location: Chicago, IL, (Onsite) Job Purpose: This position is responsible for designing and developing applications, databases and reports based on long-term business strategy including major enhancements to existing functionality and user tools. Job Responsibilities: 1. Develop, maintain, and enhance complex databases used for a variety of areas and functions using SQL, VB, VBA, Access, Excel and other software as applicable. 2. Work with users to capture and analyze business and data requirements necessary to meet business needs and corporate strategies/goals. 3. Write programs, develop and maintain distributed architecture databases for major corporate functions and develop required reporting. 4. Evaluate and recommend to management appropriate hardware/software platform upgrades. 5. Maintain documentation of all requests, data parameters and reports in an accurate and accessible manner. 6. Streamline reporting as much as possible by automating queries, etc. and/or placing reports in production to minimize manual efforts. Required Job Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree and 5 years experience in areas of information technology and 2 years of relevant database and application development experience. 2. Strong SQL expertise with the ability to write complex queries. 3. MS SQL Server & SSIS experience 4. Create, update, and maintain indexes, stored procedures, and triggers. 5. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, resolving database problems, and tuning database/objects 6. Design, implement, and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes, etc.) 7. Understanding of database design practices, including database normalization concepts 8. Must be analytical, results-driven and able to employ the right approach and methods to make the maximum use of time and resources. 9. Interprets business issues and recommends business solutions. Takes initiative to solves complex problems that have a far-reaching impact on the business. Works independently with minimal guidance. 10. Verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills necessary to work in team environment. 11. Organizational skills and experience managing completion of multiple projects. Preferred Job Qualifications: Bachelors degree with concentration in Business, Math or Computer Science. Experience with Azure DevOps, PowerBI, Tableau Looking forward to work with you !!
