Ability to understand business requirements and translate them Superb problem solving skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Thriving under pressure Excel front end Advanced native functions/formulas, array formulas Charting, data visualisation Workbook design and optimisation, calculation trees Pivot tables/listobjects/query tables Names, custom properties Data validation and conditional formatting External data connections (including Oracle) Power Query/M-Language VBA The VBA library and language syntax, the Excel object model Debugging, error handling, logging Classes and interfaces Automating other Office applications from MS Excel Developing sophisticated VBA Excel add-ins (.xlam) Ribbon UI, XML Microsoft Scripting Runtime VBA UDFs ADO Userforms Windows API (32/64-bit declarations), conditional compilation Oracle to the level of aggregate functions and joins in SELECT statements. You will not be developing in SQL but must be able to understand the SQL that end-users have written.
