Must-Have Life Insurance Domain experience Job Title: Mainframe Developer Location: SpringField - IL (5 Days Onsite) Term: Contract Client: TechM, Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL programming language. Write and maintain JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing tasks. Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to design efficient and scalable solutions within the insurance domain. Perform unit testing and debugging of application code to ensure software quality and reliability. Collaborate with business analysts, systems analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs. Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, performance optimization, and best practices. Provide support for production issues and perform troubleshooting and resolution as needed. Document technical designs, code, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to mainframe development and the insurance domain. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing development processes, tools, and methodologies. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with strong proficiency in COBOL programming language. Extensive hands-on experience with JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing tasks. Solid understanding of the insurance domain and related business processes. Familiarity with DB2 or other mainframe databases is desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
