Manage the Node.js backend, ensuring optimal performance. Maintain MySQL database schemas. Maintain integration of frontend and backend aspects of the application. Implement security and data protection solutions when upgrades in versions are required. Write clean, readable, and maintainable code. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, especially USDA IT and NAL staff. Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software. Create and maintain technical documentation. Assist with application deployments on Azure. Evaluate existing system for improvements and enhancements. Deliver a functional, secure information system with no more than 5% downtime per month every 30 days during period of performance to Lisa Castlebury. Technical Requirements for Contractor: Frontend Development: Proficiency in Angular, including understanding of its core principles, reactive programming with RxJS, and state management. Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Familiarity with Angular CLI and Angular Material UI components. Backend Development: Strong experience in Node.js, particularly with Express.js or similar frameworks. Understanding of RESTful API design and development. Knowledge of Node.js backend architecture and performance optimization. Database Management: Proficiency in MySQL, including database design, normalization, and querying. Experience with ORM tools like Sequelize or TypeORM. Cloud Deployment: Experience in deploying applications on Azure, including app services, Azure SQL databases, and Azure Storage. Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. Version Control: Proficiency in using Git for version control. Experience/Business Requirements: Must have demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining information search systems for biological laboratories, specifically botanical/taxonomic information for plants and fungi; Must have demonstrated experience in working with and maintaining compliance with security mandates and integration USDA government Cloud and network systems.
