Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Patch Engineer with specialized expertise in using Qualys for vulnerability management and patching. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system security, patch management, and IT infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the security and stability of our IT environment by managing and deploying patches across various systems and applications. Key Responsibilities: Patch Management: o Develop and manage the patch management process for all systems and applications. o Ensure timely and effective deployment of patches to mitigate vulnerabilities. o Monitor and report on patch compliance across the organization. Qualys Administration: o Administer and manage the Qualys platform, including configuration, scanning, and reporting. o Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments using Qualys. o Analyze scan results and coordinate with IT teams to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities. Security and Compliance: o Ensure all systems comply with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. o Implement best practices for vulnerability management and patching. o Assist in audits and assessments related to security and compliance. System Administration: o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patching and vulnerability management. o Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of security practices. Documentation and Reporting: o Create and maintain detailed documentation of patching processes, schedules, and policies. o Generate and present reports on vulnerability status, patch compliance, and risk assessments to senior management. Continuous Improvement: o Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. o Recommend and implement improvements to the patch management and vulnerability scanning processes. Qualifications: Education: o Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. Experience: o Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT security, system administration, or a similar role. o At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Qualys or similar vulnerability management tools. Technical Skills: o Strong understanding of patch management processes and tools. o Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments. o Familiarity with network protocols and services ( TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). o Knowledge of scripting languages ( PowerShell, Python) for automation. o Experience with other security tools and platforms is a plus. Certifications: o Relevant certifications such as Qualys Certified Specialist, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or similar are highly desirable. Key Competencies: Analytical Skills: o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and remediate vulnerabilities effectively. Communication Skills: o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Project Management: o Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
