Sr. UX Designer Location:- Burbank, CA (Onsite) Duration:- 12+ Months Experience:- 8+ Years Candidate must be a USC Must Be a Local Candidate of California Only Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and proactive Sr. UX Designer to join our team. The UX designer will focus on ideation and creation of wireframes, prototypes, user interfaces, design systems, and other UX deliverables for mobile, web, and internal software products and services. This candidate should not only understand user centered design but also should have experience putting it into practice. With the guidance of our user researchers, they will collaborate and participate in creating and executing user interviews, surveys, design workshops and usability testing. They will be responsible for creating all design artifacts necessary to create meaningful, easy-to-use experiences for our users. This will be our first in-house design position on a new Participant Experience team consisting of Product, Communications, Research and now Design professionals. Together we will shape the future of The Plans interactions with our valued participants. User-Centered Design: Implement user-centered design practices to create intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use experiences. Collaboration: Work with researchers and product owners to ideate and create interface sketches, screen flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final UI assets for web and mobile applications. Design Guidelines: Establish UX/UI design guidelines, standards, and best practices, eventually evolving these into comprehensive design systems. End-to-end UX Ownership: Manage the user experience of multiple products from strategy to execution and final sign-off. Advocacy: Evangelize the importance of exceptional user experience design best practices and drive their adoption. Presentation: Present design work to UX partners, cross-disciplinary teams, and executive leaders. Product Vision: Partner with Product, Research, and Development teams to identify requirements, use cases, and user journeys, guiding the product vision. Competitive Analysis: Review competing products and recommend design solutions that differentiate our offerings. Collaboration with Developers: Ensure implemented designs accurately reflect design specifications and best practices. Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in UI/UX design, particularly in the healthcare industry, and advocate for their adoption within the team. Mentorship: Mentor junior designers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Product Design, or a similar field, or 8+ years of relevant experience. 5+ years of experience in User Experience Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, trends, and disciplines. Expert proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to work across multiple levels of fidelity. Strong portfolio showcasing world-class design work and your contribution to the final product. Demonstrable experience in designing, prototyping, and launching exceptional end-to-end user experiences. Ability to distill requirements and stakeholder input into simple, intuitive UX/UI design concepts. Knowledge of web and mobile UI technologies, usability, and accessibility standards. Preferred Masters Degree in User Experience Design, Product Design, or a similar field Demonstrated experience in applying and evangelizing human-centered design processes. Independent, organized, and meticulous. Experience in Agile and Lean UX environments. Proven ability to translate business and user problems into understandable solutions. Intake call Notes: Role Priorities: Emphasis on user-centered design experience. Ability to lead design processes and work closely with product and research teams. Proficiency in creating design workshops, sketches, wireframes, screen flows, and delivering assets. Experience with Figma is crucial, as it is the primary tool used for deliverables. Experience Requirements: At least 3-4 years of leadership experience in a design role. Extensive experience in software, web, and mobile app development. The candidate should have a track record of managing multiple projects and liaising with agencies. Cultural Fit and Industry Background: While not industry-specific, experience in software, healthcare, or insurance could be beneficial. The candidate should understand that Sagaftra is a not-for-profit and that designs should focus on ease of use and inviting experiences rather than sales or user churn rates. Portfolio Review: A strong portfolio is mandatory for consideration. The hiring manager will not interview without reviewing a candidate's portfolio first. Portfolios should demonstrate the candidate's direct responsibility for the work presented. Qualifications: A Master's degree is preferred but not essential. More emphasis is placed on relevant work experience. Candidates should have a stable work history, indicating commitment to previous roles. Hiring Process: The hiring process will involve an initial review by David, followed by phone interviews, and potentially a panel interview with the team. The recruiter can expect feedback within 48 hours of submitting candidates. Logistics: The role requires being in the office twice a week in Burbank, with flexibility in regular office hours.
