Position : API Developer, Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, DevSecOps Engineer Location : Remote Duration : 6+ Months Contract ( USC/GC Only ) Job Description: Walk me through the day to day responsibilities of this the role and a description of the project (Outside of Workday JD): This role with primarily support daily operations for the API Gateway team. On a daily basis, the engineer will be responsible for building new / updating existing APIs for the internal and external environments and for cloud (AWS). The engineer will also be responsible for responding to/resolving various requests from application teams whose APIs are hosted on the API gateways. The engineer will be responsible for managing work deliverables using Agile/Scrum. Additionally, the engineer will have rotational on-call responsibilities where response to problems and incidents on behalf of the API Gateway team. Describe the performance expectations/metrics for this individual and their team: The engineer is expected to be available for a minimum of 8 hours of the workday, attend Agile/Scrum ceremonies and other key team meetings, manage assigned workload, requests and incidents timely / within service level agreement parameters. The engineer is expected to leverage teammates and other resources for assistance/info when needed. The engineer is expected to be solution-oriented, looking for ways to support application teams while also upholding Client and API Gateway team standards. Tell me about what their first day looks like: The engineers first day will be an introduction to the full team and an overview of the work the API Gateway team does, with emphasis on how to build/update APIs using gateway admin tools. What previous job titles or background work will in this role Developer, API Developer, Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, DevSecOps Engineer. Internal/External Groups with which the Candidate will interface: Application teams, Axway (vendor), vendors using app team APIs Required Skills/Experience: Preferred Skills/ Experience: 1. Minimum 3+years of experience with various API gateways, such as Axway, AWS or equivalent cloud platform, including global deployments of application architecture 1. Ability to advise application teams on developing high-quality APIs that comply with Client architectural and security standards 2. Minimum of 3 years of experience with designing, developing, implementing and managing APIs 2. 2+ years of experience with large-scale migration projects involving multiple application teams. 3. 2+ years of experience working with API design patterns and authentication & authorization controls using OAuth 3. 1+ years of experience working within an agile team (Scrum, Jira, Rally, etc.) Education Requirement: Bachelors degree Education Preferred: Bachelors degree Software Skills Required: Visual Studio, Python, Java, SQL, GraphQL, XML, JSON and JSON path, Experience with DevOps infrastructure such as Docker and Kubernetes to implement continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), GitLab.
