Position: SCADA Integration Engineer Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Mode of Interview: Phone and Video Job Description: Support and Troubleshoot Interface issues Need experience with Relays (schweitzer labs protective relays), Substation Communications, powerplant experience Project management experience QA/QC 50% and 50% coordination of resources Someone who can argue technical details, not just submit reports Nationally remote, but available to work CST hours Key words; commissioning, integrating, renewable energy, solar and battery storage renewable specific experience is a huge plus Need plant automation experience Lots of custom build stuff at each customer site Simple tech stack, MS Office suite in that regard Might travel to customer sites a few times a year Some Saturday work expected Description: We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a SCADA Commissioning Engineer to work on a remote basis with minimal travel required. The role focuses on overseeing and coordinating various aspects of systems engineering in the telecom industry. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and safe completion of projects. Responsibilities: Review and approve I&C commissioning plans, tests, SAT and SIT procedures, reports, and work method statements. Coordinate with contractors and vendors on work priority across multiple projects. Supervise and witness approved tests, and review the subsequent test reports. Commission I&C components and systems such as Automation Processors, Sensors, drives, switches, relays, substation components, computers, PLC/SCADA Logic-Diagrams, Logic-Symbols, SCADA Tools, Power Plant Controllers, Battery Monitoring Systems. Harmonize programming languages and communications protocols, ensuring optimization of control circuits according to logic-diagrams. Handle commissioning documentation, mark ups, and As-Built drawings diligently. Prepare regular site progress reports for the I&C related parts/systems/equipment. Maintain records for design deviations by either the Contractor or the Owner including the necessary evidence supporting the implemented design for all I&C related topics. Review and confirm the completeness and correctness of the Handover Installation Packages prepared by the Contractor. Maintain daily site log and updated temporary changes logbook as required. Support site commissioning including grid and performance testing of renewable power projects. Assist in the coordination of I&C equipment works with civil, mechanical, and electrical works to avoid conflicts and minimize delays. Review Contractors site quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) QCP system proposed for all I&C erection/installation activities. Apply QA/QC requirements according to field quality program, I&T programs, and I&T plans. Check the completeness of designs, drawings, and specifications prepared by others including substation single- and three-line diagrams, fiber optic layouts, medium voltage collection systems.CADA Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to design, review and optimize systems for better performance and efficiency. Experience with project management, including planning and executing projects. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and vendors. Proven ability in procedures and policy implementation and documentation. Previous experience in supervising teams and managing workstations. Knowledge in quality assurance (QA) practices and principles. Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions. Proficiency in automation and digital technologies. Experience with check processing and collection processes. Familiarity with engineering practices and principles. Ability to work with different vendors and manage relationships effectively. Experience in workstation support and optimization. Knowledge of planning processes, especially in an engineering context. Ability to review and ensure quality of work. Experience in the design and implementation of systems.
