Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) Duration: Contract Location: St. Paul, MN 55108 (Hybrid) Need Local to MN Candidates This position is for the State of Minnesota, this will be a 1-year project with the option to extend. This is a Hybrid position, the anticipated amount of onsite work is estimated to be around 5% of the time, and not weekly. The client is looking for a candidate that is already local to the area. They are looking for someone within a 1.5-2 hour commute to the office by car. Work Authorization: Open to any candidate qualified to work in the US. If on a visa, the visa would need to be currently valid till December 31, 2025. Bachelors degree is not required, but it is preferred. The client is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) who will be a member to the Infrastructure Team, will need to work closely with the Server System Engineers, and collaborate with the client and Enterprise teams. The DBA will help migrate to new versions of SQL and ensure the availability and optimization of the current MS SQL 2008 2022 databases. The resource may occasionally work with other database platforms such as Oracle. This candidate will need to have experience in ETL processes and have knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Managed Instances. Job duties may include but are not limited to the following: Support SQL server applications Supporting SQL Server components, including SSIS and SSRS Maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes Performing SQL backups and Disaster Recovery Performing database migrations & upgrades Working with Azure SQL technologies Documenting work and processes Provide mentorship to other DBAs on the team Provide knowledge transfer Required Skills Experience with SQL server applications and supporting components, including SSIS and SSRS. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes. Experience in mentor IT staff and database design Experience in assessing and introducing new technologies to improve operation of database infrastructure. Experience as a lead worker in a team of subject matter experts of varying capacities Experience in Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.
