Job Opportunity Functional/508 Tester Contractual | Maryland Posted on 06/12/2024 APPLY NOW Job ID DEW - 2101 Job Title Functional/508 Tester (USC Only--FDA Experience is Mandatory) Location Rockville, MD, Maryland USA Job Description Position: Functional/508 Tester Location: Rockville, MD (Remote ) Duration: 6+ months Rate: Open Interview: Video Job Description: Work in tandem with the software development team to validate, document, test, and deploy applications. Demonstrate experience and knowledge in identifying and preventing defects in these products and services on continuous basis and working with software engineers, system engineers, and DevOps engineers in the correction of any defects found to avoid problems when delivering solutions to customers. Must Have: Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities. Translate detailed design into application systems. Test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product. Ability to manage discrepancies identified during testing and collaborate with the software development team to resolve software bugs Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. Enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality. Assists with the development of overall test plan and other test artifacts; Ability to set testing schedules and provide progress or status to project management and client stakeholders Identifies, records, and helps manage defects to resolution. Identifies and communicates any testing issues and/or risks to Developer and Test Lead. Identify developer guidelines to support Section 508 and prevent usability problems; create a process for identifying potential compliance issues and documenting issues in user stories for prioritization by the client for resolution; and pro-active testing for Section 508 compliance for functionality available to end-users; create 508 test artifacts. Basic Skills & Qualifications: Experience with analyzing and documenting software test results Experience working in an Agile environment and with application lifecycle management (ALM). 508 Tester will also support efforts to test the solution for accessibility and usability compliance. 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or tester 3+ years of experience with the creation of test cases, test suites, requirements matrices, and end-of-test reports.
