[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Client is State of VA Agency : VDOT Role Data Steward ie set Standards and operate at the level of a Architect Work Location is Richmond : Onsite Interview is Phone and In-Person Start and End Dates: 07/01/24 To 06/30/25 Short Description **Requires 3 days a week onsite at 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond VA **Contractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through VDOTs Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking Complete Description The VDOT Enterprise Data Steward will apply business knowledge and technical expertise in developing tools to help make data driven decisions, report on program performance, and build efficiencies into daily work products and processes. Develop recommendations and maintain documentation for improvements to existing data, systems and system configuration, and processes in support of business activities and provide technical assistance for developed applications to all end users. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities: - Ability to proactively identify problem areas and to facilitate collaborative problem-solving processes to achieve a solution consistent with regulations and policies. - Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and to gather critical facts of a situation. - Demonstrated skill developing and managing large data sets and integrating data from different sources and across different platforms. - High-level negotiation or mediation skills. - Effective time management skills. - Effective written and oral communication skills. - Demonstrated competencies in team dynamics by leading, delegating, motivating, and obtaining desired results. - Demonstrated abilities to work with business units to assess complex business functions and processes. - Demonstrated skills in engineering business process improvement resulting in streamlined and effective processes with a mind towards automated solutions. - Knowledge of theory and principles of database development, data management, business process improvement, and performance management. - Ability to manage complex changes and implement programs, policies, procedures, and long-range goals. - In-depth knowledge of state government organizations, functions, and transportation systems, operations, and procedures. - Demonstrated ability to negotiate, mediate, settle disputes equitably, and handle difficult situations diplomatically. - Proven ability to lead teams having diverse backgrounds to successful results. - Knowledge of enterprise architecture, in particular, business and data architecture development and management. - Proficient use of Microsoft Office products with strong emphasis on Excel (to include Pivot Tables) MS Access, OneNote Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - Knowledge of the interrelationships among project data, including phases, schedules, and estimates, and the SYIP, SSYPs, STIP TIPs, and Federal Strategy (or other funding and obligation plans). Minimum qualifications - Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and to gather critical facts of a situation. - Demonstrated skill developing and managing large data sets and integrating data from different sources and across different platforms. - Proficient in MS applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and SharePoint and other business intelligence and reporting toolsets. - Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of enterprise architecture, in particular, business, data architecture development and management. - Demonstrated skills in engineering business process improvement resulting in streamlined and effective processes with a mind towards automated solutions. - Demonstrated competencies in team dynamics by leading, delegating, motivating, and obtaining desired results. - Demonstrated abilities to work with business units to assess complex business functions and processes. - Knowledge of theory and principles of database development, data management, business process improvement, and performance management. - Skill in working with business and financial information systems. - Demonstrated ability to negotiate, mediate, settle disputes equitably, and handle difficult situations diplomatically. - In-depth knowledge of state government organizations, functions, and transportation systems, operations, and procedures. - Proficient use of Microsoft software with a focus on Access and Excel. - Proven ability to lead teams having diverse backgrounds to successful results. - Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify and analyze problem areas and recommend various solutions consistent with applicable regulations and policies. - Skill in oral and written communication to build effective relationships.
