| Blue Cross Blue Shield Sr Data Engineer Details: Fully Remote (EST) Top Skills' Details Python Experience required - must be data focused not developers: know how to convert business logic into dataframes -- 5-10+ years in relevant business field (Insurance / Healthcare) Proven experience in understanding business logic embedded in legacy technologies (such as Data Stage, SAS Logic) and have code conversion experience to modern ELT logic (such as Pyspark / SQL Stored Procedures) Proven experience with major Database systems preferably SQL Server Strong SQL background Must be able to independently query and analyze data Good understanding / Working experience with Tableau / Hadoop Technologies ETL project experience. Summary: Will function as a Data Engineer within TEKsystems and will provide technical solutions in support of information needs and analysis within the business Will work directly with members in the organization to define and deliver technical solutions that support data quality, analysis and delivery of information Will function as a liaison between business users and the IT department to identify, analyze and translate specifications into solutions Will function as a Project Team Member under the supervision of the Data Project Manager Will conduct independent data processing layer and code conversion translating business logic from existing Data Stage and SAS code into modern framework in Python / PySpark / GCP SQL procedures. Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for creation of detailed programming specifications for data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, and data scrubbing processes; the validation of data quality and consistency, as well as performing data mapping between disparate databases, data sources, and gap analysis Responsible for implementing methods to control data accuracy based on pre-defined business rules across key operational systems and database/data warehouse systems Manage Business and Technical documentation for project purposes.
