The Virtual CISO will be responsible for overseeing and managing information security programs and initiatives for our clients. The day-to-day tasks center on providing executive cybersecurity advice on strategy & policy, cybersecurity risk analysis, business continuity planning, information security and operational security management, cybersecurity technology implementation, and application security. This is a hybrid role and while the company is based in Miami, FL, our clients are spread across the US with many of them expecting the vCISO to be remote with some occasional visits to the client site. Qualifications The vCISO will need to: Perform a comprehensive risk assessment for each client, including internal and external technical scanning Establish or refine cybersecurity and governance practices that align with the client organization's objectives Create or improve a risk-managed framework for scalable business operations in a risk-prone business ecosystem Provide actionable and strategic leadership insights, demonstrate a deep understanding of security knowledge applicable to the clients industry, and exercise excellent collaboration skills Use expert knowledge and ability to lead: - Business Continuity and Information Security Management - Cybersecurity and Information Security - Application Security Possess and demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills Use the depth of our Cyber Hero vCISO Network to effectively serve our clients Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are preferred The vCISO should have: Qualifications and Education - 4-6 years in leadership roles within IT Security, Cybersecurity, or similar positions. Roles with CISO designation preferred. - Bachelor Degree Cybersecurity or IT preferred - Professional cybersecurity leadership certification; CISSP, CISM, C|CISO; additional professional certifications in IT audit, security operations, forensics, architecture recommended. Preferred skills and Experience - 8-10 years in cybersecurity roles - Knowledge of cybersecurity strategy, operations, architecture or engineering - Functional knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST Special Publications, Critical Security Controls We intentionally engage with professionals that come from many walks of life, ethnic backgrounds or heritage.
