| Job Title: Java Guidewire Application Developer Position: Java/Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer Location: Fully Remote Contract: 6-12+ months (Contract to Hire) Pay Rate: $60 an hour on C2C Required Skills: Strong experience in Guidewire (PolicyCenter 10) for Integration and Configuration Strong experience with Core Java/ J2EE for hands-on development RESTful APIs Web services. Responsibilities: This role will be supporting Integration and Configuration efforts for Guidewire PolicyCenter 10.0. Design, Develop and maintain Java and Guidewire based systems. Strong Guidewire Policy Center experience is required. Work with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software. Stay up to date on the latest trends in Enterprise level frameworks and platforms. Will be responsible for researching and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems and system integrations. Assisting in defining best practices, defining standards, developing code libraries and Proof of Concepts. Preparing Detailed Specifications or Design from which programs will be written. Code/configure, unit test, review code, debug, document, and maintain complex software applications, in an environment that continuously introduces leading-edge technologies. MANAGER NOTES: As you prepare candidates for submittal, please stress to them that we are looking for very good Java/J2EE experience along with Guidewire Development experience. One skill isnt enough without the other, especially on our team, given this current project. We are looking for someone with the foundational understanding of Java/J2EE and how to develop with it. Without Java, most of the candidates we have spoken with only have Guidewire configuration skills, which is just about using a tool/platform, and would not be considered true development. Basic Guidewire configuration skills without Java/J2EE development skills are of very little stand alone value for this project. For example, many candidates we've interviewed couldnt answer even a single design pattern question, or any other basic Java/J2EE questions. The candidate's have represented themselves as Senior level Developer resources with almost 10 years of experience, but they are unable to answer basic level questions regarding technologies they have all over their resume. Most candidates weve seen seem to be junior candidates who are selling themselves as senior on their resume, when they actually dont have much hands-on experience with true hands-on development efforts.
