Important notes regarding job: The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) Office of Information Technology is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester who will be responsible for testing the conversion of about 275 Oracle reports on ACS Java applications to BI Publisher reports. Reporting to QA Manager, the Quality Assurance Tester will be involved in test planning, estimation, preparation, execution, and bug reporting. The QA testing will include validating the report parameter screen on each Java application, ensuring the BI Publisher reports are correctly integrated into the Java application, and performing role-based security testing on BI Publisher reports to ensure that the proxy authentication mechanism on BI Publisher is working as expected The work will include but not limited to: Review project requirements documentation to understand the functionalities and modules for the applications to be tested. Prepare test plan, test estimation, and test cases utilizing Azure DevOps. Work with the developers to identify and prepare test data needed for the test execution. Validate the report parameter screen on each Java application, ensure the BI Publisher reports are correctly integrated into the Java application, and perform role-based security testing on BI Publisher reports to ensure that the proxy authentication mechanism on BI Publisher is working as expected. Document software issues on Azure DevOps and assist development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of issues found. Work collaboratively with project team to communicate testing progress and status, attend defect triage meeting to prioritize and track defects to closure, discuss project updates and issues to ensure appropriate follow through to resolution. Provide weekly status to QA Manager to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and testing requirements. Mandatory Skills, Experiences and Qualifications: At least 7 years of experience testing web applications with role-based functionality and complex workflow. At least 7 years of experience in performing different types of software testing including web usability, functional, cross browser compatibility, database backend validation, and regression testing. Familiarity with different types of testing methods and techniques. At least 7 years of experience in performing different types of software testing including web usability, functional, cross browser compatibility, database backend validation, ADA compliance, mobile compatibility, and regression testing. Familiarity with different types of testing methods and techniques. At least 5 years of experience in preparing test estimation, creating test plan, and writing detailed test scenarios and test cases. At least 3 years of experience with report testing with strong knowledge of the common validations for report testing. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with defect tracking software using Azure DevOps to manage test builds, prepare test cases, manage test execution, report defects, and communicate defects with project team. Strong knowledge of SQL and database structures, including ability to query data using Oracle and MS SQL Server databases. Familiarity with different system development techniques such as Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid Agile. Operate as a self-starter and possess the technical aptitude in troubleshooting both software and environment issues. Strong understanding of quality assurance concepts, best practices, and methodology. Possess the ability to multitask and handle multiple time critical issues and projects simultaneously.
