In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our mission-critical AS400 applications. Your expertise in troubleshooting batch errors, providing break fixes, and developing enhancements will be essential to the success of our production cycles and project deliveries. Responsibilities: Production Support: Monitor and troubleshoot batch job failures in the production environment. Implement timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes. Application Development: Develop and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, CL, DB2, and SQL. Implement enhancements and new features to meet evolving business requirements. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities. Gather and analyze requirements to design and deliver effective solutions. Provide clear and concise communication on technical issues and project progress. On-call Support: Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide L2 support and address change requests during weekends. Qualifications: Essential Skills: Proven experience in AS400 application support and development, including batch job management. Strong proficiency in RPG, CL, DB2, and SQL programming languages. Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Skills: Willingness to learn new technologies as needed. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA. Knowledge of the insurance domain, particularly annuities. Experience with CONTROL-M job scheduling and monitoring. Familiarity with Aldon and OnDemand tools.
