| Direct client position Position: System Analyst Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Duration: 1 Year Client: State of Texas Agency: PWD(Texas Parks and Wildlife Department) Candidate must be Local Job Description Years of Required Experience: 7 Years of Required Experience in working with product owners and subject matter experts to gather functional requirements and preparing user stories for sprint teams specific to software development projects. 7 Years of Required Experience Leading sprint planning and grooming sessions. 7 Years of Required Experience in Collaborating with product owners and IT development teams to elicit, analyse, and elaborate on epics/features; decomposing features into user stories defining both functional and non-functional requirements. 7 Years of Required Experience in Analysing and designing the process and data flows from upstream to downstream systems to meet the solution requirements. 7 Years of Required Experience working in an Agile methodology project team environment. 7 Years of Required Experience in Reviewing, evaluating and testing software and documenting findings to technical and non-technical staff. 7 Years of Required Hands-on analysis and experience with Java, REST APIs or similar web service experience and documenting their requirements 7 Years of Required Experience in writing and analysing simple ad hoc queries. 7 Years of Required Experience in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff. Years of Preferred Experience: 5 Years of Preferred experience with technologies such as Oracle procedures and functions, Oracle forms and reports, and/or microservices is preferred. 5 Years of Preferred Experience in working with project and collaboration tools for project tracking, such as JIRA or similar. Responsibilities: Under guidance of the project manager and leads, systems analyst will be responsible for requirements gathering, facilitating the discovery process, working with product owners and subject matter experts to document functional requirements and acceptance criteria and communicates them to software development sprint teams through epics/features and user stories. The analyst will need to be able to get up to speed rapidly and acquire a deep functional knowledge of the system. The worker will need to be able to communicate clearly, lead meetings, and be experienced in asking probing what if, what about, type questions to stakeholders. The analyst will help customers express stories in clear and understandable ways and works with testers and customer representatives to help identify and verify acceptance criteria. They should have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to articulate concepts, requirements, and rationale. They should be familiar with agile development processes and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. The analyst works closely with the Project Manager under general supervision, with appropriate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
