Job Description The first round is behavioral/conversation and not deep-dive technical, and this stuff will come up in the second-round interview, but proactive knowledge is always good IMO. This person will be doing systems design, producing system design documents, and reviewing technical documents. This person won't necessarily be writing code but will be reviewing code other people write. May pair with a developer if someone is stuck. In the weeds, this person will need to understand the code but will not write any of it. Java, Kotlin, React, microservices architecture, 3rd party integration, vendor vetting/vendor integration. Communication skills are key as they will be a conduit between the vendor and the internal Driveway teams. She will interview the candidates first, then schedule a technical round w/ the architecture team, then meet with one more person on the team they would work with, likely the senior manager (3 rounds). As an Enterprise Architect, you will provide crucial technical oversight, particularly in collaboration with our near-shore partnerships. Web development and e-commerce expertise are essential for success in this role. This role is fully remote. PST hours are required. Occasional travel to Beaverton, Oregon may be required. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment with client objectives. Lead systems design initiatives, producing comprehensive system design documents to guide development efforts. Review technical documentation to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices. Provide guidance and support to developers, including code reviews and troubleshooting assistance. Partner with developers to overcome challenges and ensure project progress. Maintain a deep understanding of codebase and architecture, though not directly involved in coding tasks. Utilize expertise in Java, Kotlin, React, and microservices architecture to inform decision-making and drive innovation. Manage third-party integrations and vendor vetting/integration processes. Act as a liaison between vendors and internal teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Qualifications Extensive experience in web development and e-commerce. Proven track record in systems design and documentation. Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, React, and microservices architecture. Strong understanding of third-party integration and vendor management. Excellent communication skills, able to effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to engage in technical discussions and provide guidance without direct involvement in coding tasks. Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, while also collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
