| Direct client position Position: Sr. Data Analyst/Product Specialist Duration: 1 Year Location: Augusta, ME (On-site) Client: State of Maine Department: Department of Health and Human Services Top 3 Skills required for the Candidate : Data Analysis SQL Queries Application Testing. Position description : This Product Specialist 2/Data Specialist position is part of the Health Inspection Program (HIP) within the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, reporting to the Program Manager for HIP. This position will work collaboratively with the Office of Information Technology (also known as MaineIT) to ensure data and systems supports are maintained. This position will support HIP, Maine CDC, and provide program technical assistance to MaineIT. Work will be performed remotely with daily collaboration with team members. Initially, on-site meetings will occur for the first 3 months of orientation. After the 3 months, occasional on-site meetings may be required. The team supports the HIP application known as DHE_Tracker for licensing, inspection, enforcement and reporting services. Currently, HIP is in the process of transitioning all retail tobacco licenses to the ALMS application by December 2024. Experience Required : candidates must have application testing experience: Required minimum of two (2) year application testing experience. Candidates with one (2) or more years of experience with at least one (1) year of the following are preferred: Skills Required: Essential skills in developing/writing queries in SQL. Competency in analyzing data. Performance monitoring experience. Put into place quality control plans and identify system improvements. Ability to develop and generate custom reports for distribution. Strong Communication skills to relay information to non-technical staff.
