We are looking for a hands-on IT Developer with experience in the Power & Gas Commodity markets of North America. You will work on full stack applicationsto support Front Office Trading across commodities and must be passionate about technology with experience developing enterprise-wide solutions. You will need to partner with end-users to understand process, requirements and analyze problems to design solutions and ultimately deliver tangible business value & benefit. This role will report into the Head of Front Office Technology Americas Key responsibilities Lead the design, development, deployment and operations of full stack front office applications, data warehouse hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle to evolve our trading platforms and solve business problems. This involves requirements gathering, identifying priorities, planning tasks and on-time delivery of solutions. Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Lead operational excellence evolution: monitoring, alerting, predictive operations and ensure security best practices are followed throughout the development process. Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews. Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire software stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure components. Mentor and guide junior developers, conducting code reviews and providing technical leadership. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in software development, cloud computing, and related technologies. Continuously improve development processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency. Work with our internal staff and 3rd party IT consulting teams situated across the geographical locations to ensure solutions meets requirements and delivery projects on time. Interact closely with global development teams on organization technology needs. Represent and promote Mercuria IT, both internally and externallyMust Have Skills : Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience. 12+ years experience developing enterprise applications, 3+ in a lead developer role. North America Power & Gas Commodities background is a plus. Strong Python, Dash development expertise and strong UI development experience. AWS experience RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, VPC, SageMaker, ECR, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Athena, API Gateway, SQS, SNS. Solid understanding of relational database concepts and experience working with SQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar. Experience with Modern day data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Databricks. Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Strong understanding of DevOps best practice and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles and experience with tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar. Linux/Unix skills is a plus. Strong ability to lead and deliver projects to successful completion. Analytical and critical thinking with ability to problem solve complex issues Proven ability to rapidly solve business problems via lean/agile solution delivery methods. Highly motivated self-starter able to meet deadlines with limited supervision. Excellent context switcher, ability to multi-task, customer services skills including positive attitude. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
