We have job opening for the below role. Role: Deskside Support engineer Location: Chicago, IL/TX/CA/NJ/KY/MA/OH (Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: Minimum 8+ years Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Responsibilities: Provide on-site technical support for hardware and software issues. Diagnose and resolve technical issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and application software. Respond to and manage helpdesk tickets in a timely manner. Document all support activities and resolutions in the ticketing system. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal or external teams. Assist end-users with technology-related problems and provide training on system usage. Conduct user onboarding and offboarding, ensuring all technology needs are addressed. Create and maintain user accounts and permissions. Perform regular system maintenance, including software updates and patches. Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to ensure optimal performance. Ensure data backups and restoration processes are in place and functioning. Manage hardware inventory and track asset movement. Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements. Conduct regular audits of IT equipment and ensure compliance with company policies. Assist in maintaining local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, and VPN connections. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and work with network administrators to resolve problems. Implement and follow security best practices to protect company data and systems. Educate end-users on security protocols and procedures. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a deskside support or similar role. Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues. Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems. Familiarity with desktop and laptop hardware components. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications. Knowledge of basic networking principles and troubleshooting techniques. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or similar certifications preferred. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism.
