Title: Senior Cassandra Administrator with Linux Experience Location: Onsite in Houston, TX (3000 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77032) Duration: Long term C2C Job Responsibilities: Daily Routine Maintenance Activities: Monitoring Health: Regularly check the status and performance of Cassandra clusters to ensure they are running smoothly. Vulnerabilities Patching: Apply security patches to address vulnerabilities in the system. Reboots: Perform reboots as necessary for maintenance or after patching. Software Upgrades: Perform upgrades to keep Cassandra and other related software up-to-date with the latest versions and features. Support Troubleshooting: Provide support for diagnosing and fixing issues that arise within the Cassandra environment. On-call Production Support: Be available to provide support during off-hours for any critical issues or emergencies that occur in the production environment. Experience in Setting Up Cassandra Cluster: Knowledge of how to set up a new Cassandra cluster, add nodes to the cluster, and configure it properly. Experience in Cassandra Data Compactions: Understand and manage the process of data compaction in Cassandra to optimize storage and performance. Experience in Azure Cloud: Familiarity with Azure cloud services, particularly in relation to deploying and managing Cassandra clusters in a cloud environment.
