| From: Mykel Warner, w3global [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role: Database Administrator only local only w2 Location: Phoenix, Arizona Duration: 11 months + Rate: $42 hr on w2 max Primary skills: SQL,RDBMS Position Description * Plans, prepares, defines, structures, develops, implements and maintains database systems. * Defines and implements interfaces to ensure that various applications and user-installed or vendor-developed systems interact with the required database systems * Tests, troubleshoots, refines and documents systems; applies quality assurance and security standards to ensure against the loss of data and a minimal interruption of usage in the event of equipment failure * Plans and develops test data to validate new or modified database applications; monitors system performance by the use of appropriate utilities, online capabilities and batch reports * Confers with various technical partners and customers to define functional requirements, perform data modeling and implement final products; resolves errors and interface problems and ensures integrated systems in accordance with development standards * Writes program documentation and user procedures and instructions * Assists user departments and staff in implementing new or modified database applications; tracks and evaluates project and systems progress * Maintains current knowledge of technology and database applications and systems 8 Responsible for SQL jobs and maintenance plans to include backups, restorations, etc. as needed Skills Required * Configures and maintains database management systems. * Provides technical expertise to less experienced database administrators * develops and monitors procedures for maintaining and updating organizational metadata. * Provides technical assistance and consultation to application developers who create and maintain applications using relational database management systems (RDBMS). * Assist technical infrastructure staff in resolving problems between the operating system hardware integration points and the database management system. * Participates in and influences the direction of the overall automation architecture. Experience Required 2 years of progressively responsible programming experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
