Department: IT / DevOps - EDS Platform Team (Monitoring/Observability) Job Description Job Description Overview We are looking for a passionate and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. Our primary cloud provider is Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a secondary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We heavily utilize Kubernetes for our container orchestration needs and are responsible for architecting and implementing Monitoring and Observability solutions across our Alliance by means of Grafana/Prometheus/Loki and other monitoring tools. Key Responsibilities Architect, implement, and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Google Cloud Monitoring, Stackdriver, Prometheus, and Loki. Maintain and manage Grafana within Kubernetes, creating dynamic and comprehensive dashboards for various teams. Design and implement automated solutions to ensure the reliability and availability of our services. Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of our services. Develop and implement SRE best practices, including automation, performance optimization, and incident response. Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to scalability, performance, and availability. Document processes, procedures, and workflows to ensure team alignment and knowledge sharing. Qualifications Proven experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or similar role. Expertise in GCP and/or AWS, with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Monitoring and Stackdriver. Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters and deploying applications. Strong knowledge of Prometheus and Loki for monitoring and logging. Very strong experience with Grafana for creating dynamic and reusable dashboards. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Helm. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Certifications in GCP or AWS. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools. Familiarity with other monitoring and observability tools. (DataDog or other APM, Synthetic Monitoring, OTEL/Tracing/Jaeger) Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
