| Data Product Manager, Data Catalog Location : Chicago, IL (hybrid) looking for local resources Duration: 6 to 12 Months Job Description We're working to Advance Care through data-driven decisions and automation. The selection and implementation of an enterprise-wide data catalog is a critical step in this journey, facilitating seamless access to and management of data across our ecosystem. The Data Catalog team is dedicated to selecting and implementing a robust platform that empowers organizational insights and decision-making processes. Client seeks a proactive and insightful Data Product Manager to lead this initiative. As the Data Product Manager for our Data Catalog initiative, you will spearhead the project from its conceptual stages through to execution. This role places you at the nexus of data governance and technology, collaborating with diverse teams including Data team, IT, and business teams to ensure the data catalog effectively supports our business needs. Responsibilities You will: Develop and define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data catalog selection and implementation, ensuring alignment with Hyatts overall data strategy. Work cross functionally with dedicated team of data engineers, data scientist, solution architect and business partners to implement the data catalog. Facilitate the integration of the data catalog with existing data systems and platforms, enhancing data discoverability and usability across the organization. Establish and maintain strong relationships with software vendors and service providers, ensuring the solutions deployed are robust, scalable, and secure. Drive adoption of the data catalog across all levels of the organization, conducting workshops, training sessions, and creating adoption strategies to maximize utilization. Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies throughout the cataloging process, aligning with Hyatts ethical standards and legal requirements. Utilize project management skills to maintain project timelines, budget, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution and delivery. Regularly report on project process, challenges and milestones to senior management and stakeholders. Qualifications A bachelors degree, ideally in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager/Project Manager with a record of successfully managing or implementing an enterprise or consumer software, preferably a data catalog, data management systems or similar technologies. Strong project management skills with experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to drive product adoption and user engagement through effective change management and training strategies. Strong understanding of data management practices, including data governance, data quality and data security principles. Experience working with cloud-based solutions and data management tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with peers and senior leadership seamlessly.
