The Release Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDL), from planning and coordination to deployment, monitoring, and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and release management, with excellent communication and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: 1. Release Planning and Coordination: a. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan release schedules, considering development milestones, customer needs, and business priorities. b. Coordinate resources and activities to ensure smooth execution of release plans. 2. Release Packaging and Deployment: c. Oversee the packaging of software releases, ensuring that all components are properly bundled, documented and review and approve Request For Change [RFC]. d. Define and manage deployment processes, working closely with development, operations teams and business validators (Implementation Plan). 3. Quality Assurance and Testing: e. Work with testing teams to plan test pipeline, optimize and prepare for test release activities for each release. f. Ensure that testing environments are properly configured and that test cases cover all relevant scenarios. 4. Risk Management and Communication: g. Assess risks associated with each release and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts. h. Communicate release plans, progress, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and support teams. 5. Post-release Support and Monitoring: i. Monitor software in production to ensure performance and reliability meet requirements. j. Coordinate with support teams to address issues reported by customers and ensure timely resolution. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 2. Proven experience in software release management, with a strong understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDL). 3. Experience with release planning, coordination, and resource management. 4. Proficiency in deployment tools and automation systems. 5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and make data-driven decisions. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 7. Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 8. Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is a plus.
