Please let me know if you are interested in the below position Title: Geospatial Solutions Developer. Location:. Onsite/Hybrid - Madison, Wisconsin 53705 Duration : Long Term Contract. Visa Restrictions: No H1b/CPT . Job Description: Technical Skills: Programming Languages : Proficiency in languages such as Python (especially for data manipulation and scripting), JavaScript (for web mapping applications), R (for statistical analysis), or others relevant to geospatial data processing. Geospatial Libraries and Tools : Experience with tools and libraries like GDAL/OGR, GeoPandas, Fiona, Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS API, or others used for spatial data manipulation, analysis, and visualization. Spatial Databases : Knowledge of spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQLite/Spatialite, or similar for storing and querying geospatial data. Remote Sensing : Familiarity with remote sensing principles and tools like GDAL, Sentinel Hub, Google Earth Engine, or others for processing and analyzing satellite imagery. GIS Software : Proficiency in using GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or other specialized GIS platforms for spatial analysis and mapping. Domain Knowledge: Understanding of specific domains where geospatial solutions are applied, such as urban planning, environmental management, agriculture, logistics, disaster management, etc. Knowledge of relevant geospatial data sources and their applications within specific domains. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex geospatial problems and develop innovative solutions using appropriate tools and techniques. Experience in spatial data modelling, spatial analysis (e.g., spatial statistics, network analysis, interpolation), and data visualization. Education and Certifications: A bachelors or masters degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications in GIS or relevant geospatial technologies can be beneficial (e.g., Esri certifications, Remote Sensing certifications).(Optional) Project Management: Experience in managing geospatial projects, including requirements gathering, project planning, execution, and delivery. Additional Skills (depending on the role and organization): Experience with spatial data APIs and web services.
