From: Upama, CBS [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Visa: USC, GC, GC-EAD, L2S, L2-EAD, H4-EAD(Client needs only visa independent consultants for this role) Title: Site Reliability Engineer Location: Issaquah, WA Duration: 6-12 Months Contract Position Summary: The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for maintaining and improving the availability, performance, and capacity of Clients SAP Commerce Solution. The SRE will translate goals and strategies for system availability, performance, and capacity into designs and plans for technical solutions. The SRE will work with other members of international eCommerce team and vendors to implement these solutions. The SRE will work with other members of the international eCommerce team to identify upcoming events that could affect demand on system performance and prepare mitigation plans. The SRE will work with the DevOps team and system architects to implement, maintain, and validate disaster recovery plans and other solutions to avoid or mitigate service interruptions. The SRE will monitor the availability, performance, and capacity of SAP Commerce Solution to identify trends and concerns. Create and disseminate system reliability reports to management in support of planning and decision making. The SRE will also assist in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines for the maintenance and operation of clients overall SAP Commerce Solution. This role will partner with other members of the Technical Operations team, including the Technical Operations Manager, the Software Configuration Engineer, the DevOps team and the Services Management Team. Job Duties/Essential Functions Oversees of all site reliability functions related to clients SAP Commerce Solution. Develops, establishes, and enforces policies, standards and guidelines for site reliability. Identifies, designs, develops, deploys tools and processes to monitor, maintain, and report site performance and availability. Tracks system performance, capacity, and use experience to create effective strategies for maintaining and improving system performance and availability. Advises the International eCommerce team on said strategies. Uses communication and documentation tools (Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.) to communicate and coordinate with other team members. Applies technical expertise to lead the resolution of system issues related to system performance, availability, and capacity. Contributes to and maintains an in-depth understanding of the Non-production and Production architectures, including the hosted server environments, deployed applications, integrated packages, 3rd party operational tools, particularly as they relate to system performance, availability, and capacity. Works with the design, development, QA, technical operations teams, as well as other stakeholders, to maintain the performance, availability, and integrity of clients SAP Commerce solution. Communicates effectively with project teams and other participants in ongoing system development to identify and resolve issues, explain solutions, and provide technical expertise. Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location. Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Experience in the development, maintenance, and operation of highly available eCommerce sites (specifically those based on SAP Commerce). Expertise in the use of monitoring and reporting tools for performance and capacity analysis (e.g., Zabbix, App Dynamics, etc). Expertise in performance testing for web applications. Knowledge of Java, Linux, and Relational Database systems (particularly MySQL). Candidates must have hands-on experience operating and maintaining high-availability eCommerce systems. Past experience tuning and maintaining the performance of Java and Linux systems is desirable. Ability to prototype and demonstrate mechanisms for performance improvement, high availability, and system scaling. Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills as well as a positive attitude. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills. Demonstrated team-building skills with ability to influence and motivate team members that report to other groups in the organization. Adept at assessing issues with ability to devise workable solutions quickly responding appropriately. Must be able to work independently. Excellent organizational and planning skills, with experience building tactical plans. Flexible, must be able to change priorities quickly, focus on new ones without distraction, able to deal with conflict and work under pressure to meet deliverable dates / timelines. Must have experience in negotiating timelines and deliverables with a strong sense of urgency. Ability and willingness to travel globally. 24 x 7 x 365 operations - evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required (must be able to adjust work hours to accommodate global teams). Preferred 2-5 years of retail business knowledge. Proficient in the use of the Google products: email, spreadsheet, document, presentation, analytics. Recommended: Familiarity with Atlassian tools (including JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo). Familiarity with scripting tools, including shell scripts, Groovy, Python and/or Perl. Familiarity with principles of Continuous Integration and deployment practices. Ability to research and introduce new technologies, practices, and techniques, and open to continued learning. Familiarity with Program and Project Management practices. Experience working on medium and large-scale projects under both traditional and agile development methodologies. Strong knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle processes, as well as demonstrated experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin a plus.
