Job Title : Mechanical Designer (R&D) Location : Atlanta, GA (Onsite) Experience: 10+ Years Duration : Long Term Contract LinkedIn & Passport No is Mandatory Description: The Mechanical Designer (R&D) is predominately a machine design detailing role. The designer will be primarily involved in producing Designs, Drawings and Bills of Materials for custom automation and robotic prototypes for the MHS R&D Group. The designer will need the ability to calculate basic loads and stresses on parts and assemblies, and determine power train requirements (i.e. Motors, gearboxes, chains, belts, sprockets, etc.). The designer may be responsible for testing prototypes and creating test reports. The designer will familiarize themselves with manufacturing operations and methods to incorporate best practices of Design for Manufacturing/Design for Assembly. Additional duties may include creation of drawing and documentation packages.
