Position: Mainframe Performance Analyst Location: Dallas,TX~Jersey City, NJ (Onsite) Duration : 12+ months Responsibilities: Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain mainframe applications and systems. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform coding, debugging, and unit testing of mainframe programs using languages such as COBOL and assembly language. Develop and maintain JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing and job scheduling. Manage and optimize VSAM files and CICS transactions for efficient data access and processing. Provide production support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime. Perform system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in coordination with infrastructure and operations teams. Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures related to mainframe applications and systems Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Proven experience (5+ years) as a Mainframe Analyst or similar role in a large enterprise environment. Proficiency in IBM mainframe technologies: z/OS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Experience with debugging tools and techniques for mainframe applications. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices for incident and change management. Familiarity with batch scheduling tools and job automation processes. Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in mainframe environments. Preferred Skills: Experience with DB2 or other mainframe databases. Knowledge of modernization techniques for legacy mainframe systems. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Certification in IBM mainframe technologies (e.g., IBM Certified Application Developer z/OS COBOL).
