Role: Mainframe DB2 Developer/Administrator Location: Louisville, KY or Cincinnati, OH (Only Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: Minimum 10+ years Keyskills: DB2 Admin Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 databases and related software. Monitor and maintain database performance, including tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting. Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning. Manage database storage, partitions, and memory allocation. Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and views. Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects. Collaborate with application developers to design efficient and scalable database solutions. Perform code reviews and provide feedback to development teams. Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database performance. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in database systems. Conduct regular performance testing and implement improvements as necessary. Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data security and privacy. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security risks. Provide 24/7 support for database-related issues and incidents. Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests. Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Minimum of 10 years of experience in DB2 database administration and development on IBM Mainframe systems. Proven experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles. Experience with data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Familiarity with mainframe operating systems and related technologies. Proficient in DB2 database management tools and utilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 or equivalent certification is a plus.
