Role: Business Analyst 3 Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid, 2 days per week) 6+ months Contract Note: This role includes gathering, development and documentation of user and functional stories for Agile development in an Azure DevOps environment. The role requires enough technical acumen to research problems in the legacy system using PeopleTools/Code, SQL, etc. Candidate is expected to be able to apply analytical skills to various business and technical processes with emphasis on data migration and data management. Functional Responsibilities: The ideal candidate would have experience on data conversion projects; has been a hands-on project team member, and have experience as a functional resource; including experience researching processing requirements between systems both upstream and downstream. Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS is a plus. Coordinate cross team analysis of existing application, destination application and ETL. Identify user and system requirements and document user stories for SCRUM development Identify root cause of data problems and recommend solutions Identify process or project risk and suggest mitigation Work with outside vendors and contractors to facilitate service delivery Lead and coordinate change management process in SCRUM Preferred requirements: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification(s). Functional experience with PeopleSoft HRMS, Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Pension Administration, and/or Payroll. Project Team experience utilizing Agile Methodologies Professional Expectations: Communicates respectfully and works harmoniously with all co-workers, customers and vendors. Highly collaborative and transparent Ability to quickly grasp the complexities of the Employees Retirement System of Texas business mission to our members Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and meet deadlines, work efficiently and productively, communicate both verbally and written, with a high level of confidence Attends work regularly as scheduled; dedicated engagement with ERS staff and resources Actively participates in meeting, scrum sessions and meets deadlines Submits all timesheets timely and accurately Required Skills and Qualifications: Years Skills/Experience 3+ Experienced in gathering and documenting requirements and user stories in Agile enviroment 5+ Strong SQL skills, ability to write and execute advanced SQL in both Oracle and SQL Server 5+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel 10+ Working in Information Technology Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Ability to manage a Scrum or Kanban team Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops preferred Experience in having worked on prior implementations/conversions from a legacy system.
