| Hi All, Local Candidates Only Face-to-Face Interview Must VoIP System Engineer Philadelphia, PA (Day one Onsite) Overview: The new Systems Engineer will work alongside other members of the UC Engineering group to maintain and secure a global unified communications platform as well as planning, designing, and deploying new solutions to expand and/or enhance the current infrastructure. In addition to Unified Communications solutions, the ideal candidate will also be tasked to troubleshoot and deploy common IT applications. The candidate is also expected to provide training and support to other technical staff. Principal Responsibilities: Support and maintain the current infrastructure by performing regular IT tasks such as backup, upgrade, patch deployment, system monitoring etc. Work with other engineers and partners to resolve systemic issues. Assess utilization trends and make appropriate design and implementation recommendations to scale the UC infrastructure. Identify and deploy new solutions based on provided requirements and needs. Provide system and network architecture design recommendations. Other Functions: Attend and participate in internal meetings Gain familiarity with the current environment Perform other role related duties as assigned by manager Technical Skills: Extensive experience with Linux operating system. Including scripting and common tools and utilities (grep, awk, tcpdump, vmstat etc.) Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Moderate understanding of UC related applications and protocols, namely SIP, UDP, RTP, SDP, and TLS. Moderate experience with common Web Services (REST, SOAP). Moderate experience with automation tools, such as Ansible, and at least one scripting language Good working knowledge of the following protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SAML. Good understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, including Ethernet, VLAN and Routing. Familiarity with markup languages, namely HTML and XML. Experience with packet analyzers. Professional Skills: Ability to take responsibility for completing projects with the least amount of oversight. Ability to apply judgment, implement solutions, and avoid conflicts in a multi-tasked environment. Excellent communication skills in all areas including procedural documentation, incident reporting and information relaying. Team player with the ability to maintain a pleasant personality and a professional demeanor in stressful situations. Experience and Education: A degree in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent discipline or work experience. 3+ years of telecom experience in VoIP Systems Engineering. 1+ years of hands-on software development or scripting experience. Expertise in network and system design.
