This role ensures the seamless transition of Tableau assets while maintaining performance, security, and availability standards. The administrator will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to align cloud migration strategies with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Migration Planning and Strategy: o Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy for moving Tableau Server to the Tableau cloud. o Assess the current Tableau Server infrastructure, identify dependencies, and plan for resource allocation in the cloud environment. o Create and maintain migration timelines, risk assessments, and contingency plans. 2. Cloud Environment Setup: o Configure cloud infrastructure to support Tableau Server, ensuring scalability, high availability, and security. o Set up network configurations, storage, and compute resources in the chosen cloud platform. o Implement best practices for cloud security, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance. 3. Migration Execution: o Perform data migration, including transferring Tableau Server repositories, workbooks, and data sources to the cloud. o Conduct thorough testing and validation of the migrated environment to ensure functionality and performance. o Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during and after the migration process. 4. Performance Tuning and Optimization: o Monitor and optimize the performance of Tableau Server in the cloud environment. o Implement performance tuning measures to ensure optimal user experience and efficient resource utilization. o Conduct capacity planning to support future growth and scalability needs. 5. Security and Compliance: o Ensure that the cloud-hosted Tableau Server environment meets all security and compliance requirements. o Regularly audit and review security configurations to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. o Maintain documentation of security practices and compliance measures. 6. Collaboration and Communication: o Work closely with data analysts, business intelligence developers, and IT teams to ensure a smooth migration process. o Communicate migration plans, progress, and issues to stakeholders and management. o Provide training and support to end-users on the new cloud-based Tableau environment. 7. Post-Migration Support: o Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the cloud-hosted Tableau Server environment. o Address any post-migration issues and ensure continuous improvement of the Tableau services. o Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and Tableau features to enhance the platforms capabilities. Qualifications: Experience: o 5+ years of experience administering Tableau Server o Proven experience in migrating enterprise applications to the cloud. o Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). o Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and integration.
