The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, designing, and optimizing our Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL database systems. This role requires a deep understanding of database management, development, and architecture to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration -Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL database servers. -Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, recovery, and patch management. -Monitor database performance and security, using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), pgAdmin, SolarWinds, and AWS CloudWatch. -Implement and manage database security policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with data privacy regulations. -Provide technical support and troubleshoot database-related issues. Database Development -Design and create database schemas, tables, views, and queries for MS SQL and PostgreSQL. -Optimize database objects and queries for performance and efficiency. -Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks. Data Architecture -Design the overall structure of the database to ensure scalability, security, and performance. -Create data models that represent and support business processes. -Develop and implement strategies for management, data warehousing and data integration. -Ensure adherence to best practices in database design and implementation. Preferred Skills and Experience: - College Degree and IT certifications are highly desirable -Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, development, and architecture -Strong knowledge of SQL database architecture, configuration, and administration -Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning -Experience with database backup and recovery solutions -Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts -Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools -Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) -Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL - Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, development, and architecture Keywords: information technology microsoft Pennsylvania Jr. Database Administrator [email protected] |
