Job Description - Sr Systems Engineer, Infrastructure & Operations **Must be local or willing to relo immediately as this is remote/hybrid** Hybrid onsite, Easton PA - need local nearby.. Note : Customer will consider someone hybrid that will come in a couple days per month, and they will pay for a hotel. So basically, someone within a few hours, no plane expenses. Duration is 12 months. May extend very long term (3 year roll out) This was originally the Sys Architect role now its a Senior Vmware Engineer. We need ppl from Philly or surrounding area This is the Job spec: Customer only wants to see people with some CPG experience. Skills: VMWare - top skill - 100's of machines, needs ES/XI experience AWS is big too since they are heading in that direction for storage of the backup tapes (S/3, WANS) Servers, HP Blades, Hardware experience Data standards, Storage, Networks (must have these skills) Disaster recovery (plans and testing experience) Wants someone to envision the future state of VMWare Azure is a secondary skill set, but helpful Prefer local, will pay hotel expense when needed onsite Implementing Veem now, that would be helpful Linux is a big skill to have - make sure of it. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sr. Systems Architect role is to analyze, design, test, implement, maintain, and document assigned IT Services and related components, to achieve high availability, security, and performance of the various business applications supported. This includes designing, installing, configuring, administering, and fine-tuning the technology supporting these services. Assigned IT Services may include VMWare, Windows and Linux servers, EMC Storage environments, and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements for assigned IT services. Develop and execute on a three year roadmap for each assigned IT service. Drive high-availability to meet inter-company SLAs. Provide statistics and reports. Assist with vulnerabilities management and driving down vulnerabilities to minimize risk scores. Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of IT services to meet corporate objectives. Ensure that all aspect of IT services comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines. Recommend and execute modifications in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security following NIST guidelines. Participate in the development of SOP and governance documents for both internal and external audiences. Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities to support business. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in related field with 8 years of systems engineering experience Required work experience with Systems, Storage, VMware, Linux, O365, and Windows Server. Experience with SAP both on-prem in in-cloud Familiarity working in an ITIL environment. Strong troubleshooting experience with DNS, TCP/IP, Group Policy and Active Directory. Strong documentation skills, utilizing Visio, Excel, Word etc. Ability to follow established work flows around change management and documentation. Familiarity with various network protocols, firewall management, and database administration. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Highly self motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Participate in on-call rotation for afterhours support. We are looking to fill a consultant position for a Senior Systems Engineer in my Infrastructure & Operations group for at least a 3 month stint. Hybrid is preferable with someone local to the Lehigh Valley, but we will eventually consider fully remote if the person is able to come in once a month and from the tri-state area. This was initially for an ARCHITECT, and now it is a senior engineer. So, some of the requirements are probable lessened.
