Role: Shell Script Architect Location: Albany, New York Duration: 24 Months Job ID: SLG - 19 - 9656 Client: NY State Respond by Date: 07/04/24 5:00 PM Description The consultant will be responsible for working with ITS technical staff to review existing batch processing environment for legacy PeopleSoft HCM system (on Solaris environment) and re-develop those associated scripts into a new batch processing environment to be hosted on Oracle Linux environment (for upgraded People Tools version 8.61) while conducting requirement analysis and strategic analysis to drive the design, development, testing, and implementation of that new batch processing solution. Duties The consultants will perform tasks including, but not limited to, the following: Evaluating and documenting functionality in the current state system. Planning out the re-design of the new to-be batch schedule environment. Coordinating work with the rest of the technical team involved in the new to-be batch schedule environment design. Rewriting the existing Batch Schedule Unix Wrapper Script Jobs into new compatible wrapper scripts that will execute on new Oracle Linux environment. Report out any roadblocks or technology gaps to Project Management in trying to fit all current state functionality in the new to-be design. Mandatory Requirements Experience (12+ Years) Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-levelled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system. Requirements This is an 100% Onsite 84 months experience writing efficient, reusable and reliable Bash and Korn Shell scripting code to meet project requirements. 84 months experience with navigating and traversing UNIX/Linux environments from a command line interface. 72 months experience implementing batch processing solutions using Shell scripting to automate system administration tasks, data processing, and file operations (such as: file manipulation, printing and emailing). 72 months experience in conducting requirement analysis and strategic analysis to drive the design, development, testing, and implementation of batch processes. 60 months experience in leading small development teams in an agile project environment. 36 months experience utilizing SQL Plus client to execute SQL logic in a UNIX/Linux environment.
