| Job Title: Technical Business Analyst Location: Hybrid, minimum 2 days onsite per week, West Nyack, NY Need local only Duration: 6 Months with the potential for renewal Interview: Video Visa: No H1B/TN LinkedIn with pic Job Description: Our customer is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Technical Analyst. This role will focus on analyzing and documenting the rules and logic embedded within COBOL and CISC code on a decades-old mainframe system. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in deciphering the intricacies of legacy systems and translating these insights into comprehensive documentation. This documentation will be critical for system integrators tasked with converting this data to modern platforms. The role demands deep expertise in legacy programming languages, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively. Responsibilities: Analyze complex code to uncover underlying rules and logic. Utilize a strong understanding of Complex Instruction Set Computing (CISC) principles to interpret code. Apply in-depth knowledge of COBOL programming to extract business logic and rules from legacy systems. Contribute to the design process for converting data from legacy systems to modern platforms. Create clear and comprehensive documentation that captures system logic for use by system integrators. Utilize hands-on experience with mainframe systems, particularly those operational for several decades, and familiarity with their operational environments. Required Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong grasp of CISC principles. In-depth knowledge of COBOL programming language. Experience with system conversion principles and design. Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation. Hands-on experience with mainframe systems. Desirable Skills: Understanding of Agile methodologies . Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies. Familiarity with additional programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python ).
