Job Title: SAP Basis Manager Location: New Jersey Job Type: Contract Job Summary: The SAP Basis Manager is responsible for the management, support, and optimization of SAP infrastructure components. This role ensures the smooth running of SAP applications and databases by overseeing installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP systems. Key Responsibilities: SAP System Administration: Install, upgrade, and configure SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, etc.) and databases (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server, etc.). Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor system performance, analyze bottlenecks, and tune system parameters to improve performance and reliability. System Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, apply patches, and ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest releases and fixes. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for SAP systems and databases to ensure data integrity and availability. Security Administration: Manage user roles, authorizations, and profiles within SAP systems. Implement and maintain security policies and procedures. Interface and Integration Management: Coordinate with development teams and functional consultants to manage system interfaces and integrations with other applications. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues related to SAP systems, interfaces, and databases. Provide guidance and support to end-users and technical teams. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation related to SAP system configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, uptime, and incidents. Project Management: Lead or participate in SAP implementation projects, including planning, resource allocation, and coordination with stakeholders. Vendor Management: Liaise with SAP support and third-party vendors for incident resolution, service requests, and procurement of SAP-related services. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience (10+years) in SAP Basis administration and management. In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, systems, and modules (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, etc.). Hands-on experience with SAP installations, upgrades, and system migrations. Strong understanding of SAP database management (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server, etc.). Proficiency in SAP system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security administration. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management experience and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: SAP certification in Basis administration or related field. Experience with SAP cloud solutions (SAP Cloud Platform, SAP SuccessFactors, etc.). Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and other SAP monitoring tools. Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare or finance.
