You will lead and mentor multiple teams across different locations, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the e-commerce/retail domain. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering and analytics technologies, project management expertise, and a passion for the retail industry. Roles and Responsibilities include * Lead and inspire geographically distributed data engineering and data analytics teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. * Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data engineering and data analytics projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. * Utilize your proficiency in Data Engineering and Analytics technologies to guide technical decision-making. * Effectively communicate project status, challenges, and progress to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. * Leverage your expertise in e-commerce/retail to drive data-driven insights and strategies. * Manage resource allocation, budgets, and timelines to optimize project delivery. Mandatory Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field * Proven experience in program management of data engineering and data analytics projects, preferably in the e-commerce/retail sector. * Recent project/program implementation experience in Data Engineering or Analytics is mandatory (at least 1-2 years) * Proficiency in SQL, Python, Glue, Airflow, Fivetran, RedShift, dbt, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot is a plus * Strong leadership and team-building skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Project management certification (PMP, Agile, or similar) is a plus. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. READ THE BELOW There are 3 Data teams in Alo Data Engineering, Data Analytics and Data Science. Even if we ignore Data science, which is very niche, we will need PMs to be conversant on Data Engineering and Analytics. The candidates should have demonstrated solid experience in data engineering side AND analytics. Either one alone will not work. The candidate should have experience managing Data Engineering teams During screening, please ask the following questions and share their response along with profiles. Have they worked in any Data Engineering projects where they used data pipelines to ingest data from source systems into data warehouse Have they worked on Big Data processing tools like Spark / Hadoop / FiveTran Have they worked on data storage and orchestration tools like AWS Glue, AWS S3, Apache Airflow, DBT Have they worked on Cloud Data Warehouses like Apache Redshift or Snowflake Have they worked on data visualization tools like Tableau Are they conversant with cloud technologies specifically AWS services A nice bonus would be if they are conversant with Web Analytics tools like Google Analytics and Do they have any experience working for Retailers Also, please check with these folks which part of LA they live and their willingness to commute to Beverly Hills 5 days a week. If they live far away, then we will get into a situation of hectic schedule and work-life imbalance. .We need someone who is competent enough to cut through.
