Role : iOS Application Developer Location : Menlo Park, CA (Onsite) Experience : 10+ Years Long Term Project NEED LOCALS or AROUND STATES ONLY PP Number is Mandatory (if not USC) Job Description: Must Have: Angular and Cordova Issues that the manager has had with previous candidates: Candidate does not understand more than the basics of the swift language (e.g., optional) and is unfamiliar with newer features like concurrency Candidate cannot pick an Apple API to talk about Candidate picks URL Session as their only API but then can't speak technically about anything other than making a network request and handling an error Candidate has no experience with the iOS ecosystem (e.g., anything about making an app, other than writing code) and cannot pick a topic to talk about (e.g., App Capabilities, Signing and Distribution, etc) Candidate only has high-level iOS ecosystem experience (e.g., mentions the word provisioning profile, but otherwise cannot technically speak to the build / signing process) Candidate doesn't directly answer the technical questions and/or responds with generic fluff (AI-like response); cannot say "I don't know" Candidate cannot hold a relaxed technical conversation on an iOS topic of their choosing Description: The Client Channels team within Wealth Management develops the Morgan Stanley Mobile Applications for iOS and Android. These hybrid (Angular + Cordova) Applications provide comprehensive views of assets and liabilities, quick payments and transfer capabilities, projected income, breaking news, research and much more for the wealth management clients. As a developer specializing in Web Application Architecture & Continuous Integration on the mobile team, youll hold a position responsible for: Stewarding the web application architecture to achieve native app-like performance, security, and appearance Evolving this web architecture to support an ever-changing mobile ecosystem (of devices and operating systems), and ensure re-use across varied native applications Driving the tools and training that enable the broader web development teams to contribute their write-once code to the mobile application, including the developer configuration of Macs used by these developers Managing a team of web developers (onshore + offshore) that interface with business and user experience colleagues to build mobile-only functionality, and review the work done by write-once teams destined for the mobile platform Your behind-the-scenes roles will include: - Ownership of the web application CICD build on Macs in the cloud, where youll monitor and optimize performance, and adjust for changes to internal infrastructure - Responsibility for logging, monitoring, diagnosing, and responding to production stability issues Education: Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering, preferably Computer Science/Engineering Primary / Required Skills 1. Strong experience with CSS, SASS, HTML5, web pack, and Angular 2. Web application development experience (ideally) for full-screen hybrid apps (i.e., addressing safe area, software keyboards, debugging, etc) or (at a minimum) for mobile web browsers 3. Experience with web browser Dev Tools across platforms 4. Knowledge of modern (responsive) web application design skills. 5. Experience with Git, node, reviewing pull requests 6. Excellent Communication Skills 7. Team management skills 8. Exposure to Agile and Jira Secondary / Desired skills 1. Familiarity with deploying apps to the Apple and Google Play stores 2. Cordova 3. Splunk 4. Azure pipelines 5. Native (iOS / Android) development and deployment skills 6. Fluency with the macOS terminal (zshell) 7. Knowledge of testing frameworks and test-driven development 8.
