| Role: Business Analyst with Construction Management Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months Job Description: The Virginia Dept. of General Services (DGS), Division of Engineering and Building (DEB), is looking for a Business Analyst with process improvement experience to assist with its Building Information Tracking System(BITS) Modernization efforts. This position is primarily responsible for business analysis, process improvement, and requirements documentation of DEB business processes that will inform the design and development of systems for BITS Modernization efforts. The selected candidate in this position will work closely with stakeholders, DEB Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), DEB Agency customers(Agencies), and DGS, Information Systems and Services (ISS), development teams. The Business Analyst will report to the Business Owner to ensure business requirements, enhancements, modifications, and newly identified business initiatives are thoroughly documented for successful implementation of Information Technology solution(s). This position should expect to work between30 and 40 hours per week. Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Experience in system design and development, with a focus on process improvement and business and technical requirements gathering -Experience workflow processes -Experience developing test plans, use cases, and performing quality assurance validation, user acceptance testing, and regression testing -Experience in the development of training materials and conducting user training -Strong interpersonal and communication skills The successful candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to drive the analysis effort Preferred Experience: -Knowledge of building and construction management systems including compliance, budgeting, and permitting workflows and practices. -Project admin experience in commercial/institutional construction. -Knowledge of public construction project terminologies, permitting, and procurement standards. -IT application/systems development and/or management experience. -Ability to manage small to moderate scope projects. -motivated and proactive Business Analyst who is detail oriented, willing to question the status quo, propose improvements, and not necessarily a blended PM.
