In this role, the candidate must interact with the VA Chief Architect in an advisory role to bring technical expertise to bear in support of the strategic direction of the VAs Architecture & Engineering Service. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, including writing and presentation skills, that enable him/her to function in an advisory capacity within the VAs IT Portfolios and Product Lines. The ideal candidate posses the following specific skills; 1. Technical Expertise: Understanding various technologies, architectures, and systems to make informed decisions. 2. Business Acumen: Being able to align technology strategies with business goals, understand industry trends, and drive innovation. 3. Communication Skills: Effectively communicating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders. 4. Problem-Solving: Being able to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement them. 5. Leadership: Leading teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving change within an organization. 6. Strategic Thinking: Developing long-term strategies and roadmaps that align with the organization's goals. 7. Project Management: Managing large-scale projects from conception to implementation. 8. Enterprise Architecture Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF and SAFe. 9. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with architectural decisions. 10. Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, customers, partners, and vendors, and effectively communicate strategy and outcomes. 11.
