Must have Local Consultant : Portland, OR Near by 2 hoursJob Title: Embedded Firmware Engineer Location: Portland, OR (hybrid onsite 3 days onsite) must be local Duration: 3 months initially (with possibility of extension) Visa: USC, GC only Our client is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer to join their team in developing cutting-edge wireless products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of embedded systems, wireless communication protocols, and sensor integration. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing firmware for their next-generation devices by leveraging advanced technologies. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems utilizing Nordic nRF52840 SoC or similar platforms. Implement communication protocols such as BLE, SPI, I2C, and UART for seamless device interaction. Integrate various sensors, including strain sensors, IMUs, and other analog/digital sensors, into the firmware framework. Optimize firmware for low power consumption, maximizing battery life in wearable and IoT devices. Develop and maintain firmware update mechanisms over BLE and USB. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure high-quality and reliable firmware. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in embedded systems and wireless technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 to 10 years relevant work experience. Proven experience in embedded firmware development using C. Strong understanding of ARM Cortex-M architecture. Hands-on experience with wireless protocols like BLE. Familiarity with various sensor technologies, including strain sensors, IMUs, and ADCs. Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with disparate entities within the organization. Preferred (Must Have) Qualifications: Experience with Nordic nRF52840 SoC or similar platforms. Experience with haptic driver firmware development. Knowledge of firmware security and cryptographic protocols. Experience with Zephyr real-time operating systems (RTOS).
