The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Cassandra database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and cluster scaling. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our mission-critical Cassandra database clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and upgrade Cassandra clusters across multiple environments (dev/staging/prod) Design and implement backup/recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability Monitor Cassandra clusters, identify bottlenecks, and tune for optimal performance Develop and implement database security policies and access controls Manage Cassandra cluster scaling (adding/removing nodes) to meet capacity demands Collaborate with engineers to review data models and ensure efficient schema designs Solid understanding of security principles and implementation in database environments Monitor database performance, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database structures for applications Automate routine DBA tasks through scripting and tools Provide training and support to development teams on Cassandra best practices Troubleshoot and resolve Cassandra issues in a timely manner Stay up to date on Cassandra releases and industry best practices Requirements 8+ years of database experience with a minimum 2-3 years of proven recent experience as a Cassandra DBA.
