Title: Oracle Data Architect Location: Tallahassee, FL Need Locals to FL Length: Long Term Travel Required: none Telecommute: no General Characteristics Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors. Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts. Focuses on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design. Defines data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects. Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation. Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent Mandatory Experience: A minimum of 12+ years of experience with large and complex database management systems. Complexity: Expert/lead technical role. Defines and plans database architectures for enterprise systems. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert. Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Consultants responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Control project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design. b. Collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements. c. Build an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture. d. Research new opportunities for data acquisition. e. Identify and evaluate current data management technologies. f. Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data flows through an organization. g. Develop data models for database structures. h. Design, document, construct and deploy database architectures and applications (e.g., large relational databases). i. Integrate technical functionality (e.g., scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc.). j. Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility. k. Constantly monitor, refine, and report on the performance of data management systems. l. Meld new systems with existing warehouse structures. m. Produce and enforce database development standards. n. Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures. PREFERED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE a. 8+ years of experience with data architecture, large-scale data modeling, database design, and business requirements analysis. b. Technical leadership abilities in data architecture. c. Strong understanding of the best practices in data modeling techniques including in-depth knowledge of the various normalization, dimensional modeling, and their appropriate usage in various solutions. d. Demonstrated experience in large scale enterprise and data warehouse initiatives, involving multiple departments. e. Data visualization, data migration and data modeling. f. Relational database management systems. g. DBMS software, including SQL Server. h. Machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing. i. Data mining and modeling tools. j. Data management and reporting technologies, predictive analytics, data visualization and unstructured data. k. Creative and analytical problem-solving capabilities. l. Database and cloud computing design, architectures, and data lakes. m.
